Short story “I Don’t Know” is written for the Mondays Finish the Story Challenge – May 04, 2015. The task is, given the image and starting line, complete the story in 100 to 150 words.
After losing her head, she realized that the rest of her body was falling apart! She clearly did not know what she did not know. She had assumed that she would know it. She did not even know what she had known and what she had not known. She was in a fix. The knowns and unknowns were messing up with time. She had to decide fast. She knew that she would fix them the way they were in the beginning. But clearly, she wasn’t. It was new.
The little girl clearly did not know how to fix her baby toy after giving it a thorough bath. Then putting everything to an end she shouted,
“Mmoooooommmmmmm”

That was so sweet! Mystery till the end.
For little girls, their dolls are everything. I don’t have a daughter but I have too many memories of myself playing with dolls. Had a whole family of dolls and they all were real for me. Once, some friend had badly rubbed a mango on my favorite doll’s clothes and face, and I had to throw her away, of course after my mom had tried her best to fix it. But this doll’s demise was like death in the family.

Sweet memories! I am glad the story took back to that memory even if not a happy one! And these days most of it is taken away by the machines and games!
