It’s April of 2024 and Day 16 of the A to Z challenge. This year I am doing the theme of ‘26 Moments’ on my blog. I plan to pull out A to Z parts from diverse set which are more than just the parts and possibly describe the world of their own. It can be a wonder, an invention, a community, the philosophy, a thought, a lead, a culture, a design, or basically anything that would make one wonder and ponder on. 26 imperfect petite flashes that are amongst and around us.
My everyday will have a selection, description, an eight line poem followed by an interpretation.
Day 16: Postmodernism
The reason I love sociology theories is that they are not easily understood in one read and each theory has several interpretations. A lot of research goes by for each theory and off-course leading a pathway to several new discoveries and inventions. Postmodernism claims that due to globalization traditional theories of how a society works is no longer adequate to explain the postmodern life. We need a new way of thinking, beliefs, ideas, style of living etc. It questions the grand narratives and elements of the modern life. It is a way of thinking about culture, art, philosophy and everything that is attached to life and living. It says that knowledge is always made or invented and there is no real truth. The theory says that one must not make other believe what they believe in, and that is way of powering over them. The theory denies the existence of all definitive principles and that is enough to encourage one to discover the new truths of life.
Poem:
In the way of living:
If there is one,
Beliefs and opinions,
Thoughts and truths,
Everything will be questioned.
For the search of new,
It is the way of living.
Is it the way of the living?
While we question and move on, we fail to understand and fall back. Will the modern thinkers be even pinch and sprinkle of what we had in classic times? Where are we failing?
