Day 16 – Petrichor
Origin: Greek
Meaning: The scent of earth that is associated with the first rain after a dry spell. The mild and pleasant first smell.
Poem
Read a story,
To the seeds.
Sing a poem,
To the walls.
Dance a beat,
To the glasses.
Like a petrichor,
The roots await us.
The feeling of first, though literally not the first, repeats in many cycles. Each first brings an aura of pleasantness in a new form. The journey we take with ups and downs is the dawn of new. We are reflections of what we sow.
Word Pronunciation: PET-ri-kuhr
