AtoZ2019G

Its April of 2019 and Day 07 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: gladius
Language: Latin
Meaning: (in ancient Rome) a short sword

Poem:
the gladius,
came with a warning.
while the belief,
held lie.
trust,
contained rust.
agreed,
had a greed.

Interpretation:
Words and Actions can do more damage than a mighty sword.

Faux pas

AtoZ2019F

Its April of 2019 and Day 06 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: faux pas
Language: French
Meaning: an embarrassing blunder or indiscretion, an embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation.

Poem:
a job of displeasure,
meaningless etiquettes,
an animal hurt,
an unmerited title,
an illicit communication,
an alien service,
a falsified hope,
a natural faux pas.

Interpretation:
To place a natural order into the system, God has made a faux pas look like an appreciation/ambition. The concern is that most don’t realize it. Happiness gets quoted in several fonts and colors and life, naturally a faux pas. The petty issues, are, well, petty (When would we realize that?).

Et cetera

AtoZ2019E

Its April of 2019 and Day 05 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: et cetera
Language: Latin
Meaning: (usually written as etc)used at the end of a list to indicate that further, similar items are included.

Poem:
work ass off,
stand first.
dance of luck,
move second.
as a consolation,
there is third.
the rest are in et cetera,
usually written as etc.

Interpretation:
Model theory says that when two people work equally hard, luck plays the role putting one second. Then there is consolatory third. Let’s not talk of the rest. Even the world cuts it short to etc.

Déjà vu

AtoZ2019D

Its April of 2019 and Day 04 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: déjà vu
Language: French
Meaning: a feeling of having already experienced the present situation

Poem:
in a parallel universe,
is another you,
the unstoppable you,
the youthful you,
the unexplored you,
sending the high tides,
waiting to make you feel,
déjà vu.

Interpretation:
The parallel universe here is our ambition and life goal that we dream of. If we work towards it diligently, that possibly is the best form of déjà vu. You aspire, you dream and one fine day, you stand to witness it with utmost satisfaction.

Carpe diem

AtoZ2019C

Its April of 2019 and Day 03 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: carpe diem
Language: Latin
Meaning: make the most of the present

Poem:
a passionate kiss to the day’s job,
instinct to trust one’s own wing,
the tiredness down the eye,
the comfort in the struggle,
the winks, the crush, the love,
the smallest parts of tiniest things,

now, that’s what I call,
carpe diem.

Interpretation:
A leisure holiday at the beach is satisfying when earned the hard way. Making the most of the present has a mixture of love, struggle, dedication, ambition and believing in every tiny thing.

Bona fide

AtoZ2019B

Its April of 2019 and Day 02 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: bona fide
Language: Latin
Meaning: real, with good faith

Poem:
the gods are listening,
the ashes desire peace,
the stones need sculptures,
the mud, a shape,
the hunger, a direction,
the silence needs a voice.

the basket is open,
bona fide soul or bona fide stupidity.

Interpretation:
The world is a welcoming open basket. The sacrifices need a worth and everything needs a shape. Every silence needs a voice. What do we put in? goodness or stupidity?

Ab initio

AtoZ2019A

Its April of 2019 and Day 01 of A to Z Challenge. I am doing Foreign word/phrase a day and 8 line poem for it.

Word/Phrase: Ab initio
Language: Latin
Meaning: from the beginning, from the first principles

Poem:
because, then god said,
your taps run water,
your cans house food,
your supplies contain bed.

because, then god said,
there is a map,
the dreams are naked,
ab initio.

Interpretation:
God has given most of us, from day 0, the basic supplies(which is the map) and naked dreams. Are we fighting the right? Are we fighting the sufficient? One has to opt between dying with naked dreams or dying with matured fulfillment.

A to Z 2019 – Theme Reveal

AtoZ2019icon

April brings happiness for various reasons. Though my schedule is keeping me away from blogging for a while now, I don’t want to miss the A to Z challenge, for whatever it takes to be a survivor.

This will be my third year of A to Z Challenge.
In 2016, I had picked an Idiom for an alphabet and then an eight line poem for it. In 2017,  I had selected the theme Emotions and Expressions for life, where everyday there was a thought and an eight line poem.

AtoZ2019Theme

Clearly, an eight line poem has got into my A to Z. This year I will be picking words and phrases from different foreign languages and give an interpretation to it with an eight line poem.

Are you doing the challenge as well? I would certainly like to read and follow-up!
Well, I am excited!

Working Out 2019

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

There is something distinctive about this day – December 31. Though it’s yet another day, okay, it’s sure not ‘yet another day’. Like we all celebrate our birthdays, individually, this day is like a birthday which everyone wants to celebrate and that is what makes it special. The whole world as a crowd becomes part of it. It’s not about whom we want to dedicate this day. A calendar or earth or goals or life or something that can make to the list, but it’s about the aspirations this day brings.

The celebration takes its ways.

Some dance, fireworks,
Some read, social networks,
Some family, blog, sleep,
Some something else, beep,
A cake, a celebration, a peace.

It does not matter how we welcome. We have our ways and our ways are always the better ones (of-course to us). What possibly and probably really matters is how we wish to see ourselves for future 365 days and how we evaluated ourselves for the past 365 days. We all need metrics. We all need evaluation. Not to rank or measure but to increase the happiness and satisfaction factor. Time will always bring the new but how good was the old to cherish?

Apart from those greetings, wishes and forwards, most of us try to bring out a new version of ourselves and that is what matters. I started having resolutions since 2017 and it has worked for me in most amazing way. Here is what happened in 2018.

Here is what I want to see in 2019:
