Qatar – Dallah

It’s April of 2021 and Day 17 of the A to Z challenge. This year, I am doing the theme – “Travel the World.” I am visiting countries from A to Z and presenting stories with 8 line poems.

Day 17 Country: Qatar

Qatar is classified by the UN as a country of very high human development and is backed by the world’s third-largest natural gas reserves and oil reserves. The capital Doha is a rapidly growing modern city with skyscrapers and blooming economy. The city leaves behind one mesmerized. Dallah, the coffee pots are known to be one of the best souvenirs of Qatar. They’ve been used for centuries to brew the traditional spicy, bitter coffee. The Dallah brewed coffee is part of the Qatari tradition of hospitality and ceremony. These are traditional coffee pots made of steel, brass, silver, or even 24K gold for special occasions or used by royalty.

Poem:

Some saw it half,
Some with mask,
Some saw it late,
Some oversaw.
What you brew,
The way you brew,
Is usually, always,
And only with you.

The stories of ‘you’ will be passed on and analyzed in the ways you never imagined. There are moments that are beautiful only because you know ‘your’ story.
