Japan – Anime

It’s April of 2021 and Day 10 of the A to Z challenge. This year, I am doing the theme – “Travel the World.” I am visiting countries from A to Z and presenting stories with 8 line poems.

Day 10 Country: Japan

Anime is used to refer to all animated works irrespective of genre and English dictionaries define ‘Anime’ as animation originating in Japan. Animation in Japan began in early 20th century. A claim for the earliest Japanese animation is Katsudō Shashin, for which the creator is unknown. Anime and Manga are popular worldwide – One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia etc are some of popular anime series that has got a huge fan base. As of 2016, Japanese anime accounted for 60% of the world’s animated television shows. Below is an image from Momotaro: Sacred Sailors (1945), the first feature-length anime film.

Poem:

To be amazing,
To do amazing,
You don’t need,
A group,
A support,
A pat.
All you need,
Is YOU.

The lessons from Anime are nothing less than any arrangement of life inspirations. They take us on a cultural and inspiring ride showing us how our attitude can shape us.
