France – Louvre

It’s April of 2021 and Day 06 of the A to Z challenge. This year, I am doing the theme – “Travel the World.” I am visiting countries from A to Z and presenting stories with 8 line poems.

Day 06 Country: France

Be it the Eiffel Tower, Cheese, Cuisines, etc. it was a tough choice to make, for France is well known for many things. Louvre Museum is the World’s largest art museum and who does not know about the painting Mona Lisa. The museum opened on 10 August 1793 with an exhibition of 537 paintings and now it is said to house approximately 38000 objects from pre-history to 21st century. As per sources, the museum gets around 10 million visitors every year.

Poem:

I am an artefact,
Passing by antiquities,
The arts of my mind,
The decorative I live with,
The stories I dwell,
My soul paintings,
Me, a museum.
Worthy a ticket?

Look back. Would you pay to visit your own life museum? It is interesting enough to cherish and explore?

  2. France is struggling with Covid (as is the rest of the world) & there ATMS & cash registers went down for 2 days…it has been a nightmare for that country.
And they are in total lockdown yet again…
I like that you are doing places because we are unable to travel for real. This is a cool way to learn about places & stay safe 😉

      • WE are in a 3rd wave of Covid here in Canada. Our Province is under total lockdown…it is terrifying Prakash. We are only allowed out to buy food/medications/toiletries/pet supplies & food. We can not go shopping for clothing, shoes, furniture…anything else.
So this virtual world tour is wonderful my friend 😉

          • I am so relieved you & your family are safe & well there.
We are finding across our country that it is the teenagers & 20 &30 year olds who are NOT following protocol at all. This is VERY distressing. I am ever vigilant to keep my distance & even wear a mask in my building. I do not have to wear mask in my own apartment nor on patio as long as people stay 6 feet away.
We have so many of the Variants too…that is making for a HUGE problem!
            Anyway we continue on right?
