Egypt – Suez Canal

It’s April of 2021 and Day 05 of the A to Z challenge. This year, I am doing the theme – “Travel the World.” I am visiting countries from A to Z and presenting stories with 8 line poems.

Day 05 Country: Egypt

The Suez Canal, the artificial sea-level waterway from Egypt was officially opened in 1869. The construction of canal took 10 years under Ottoman Empire. The canal connects from the Mediterranean sea to Red sea. New channels, reconstructions, subways, etc have timely happened since then. The opening of the canal has created the first salt-water passage between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

Poem:

For the hard,
For the tough,
For the path you vision,
For the reality,
That waits ahead,
If you want to see,
Build yourself,
A canal.

Wonders take time. But they don’t take forever. Have you heard about the recent news of Suez Canal blockage and the loss it is causing? If not, you must browse and read that.

  1. As soon as I saw Suez Canal I wondered if you heard about the blockage…
Ever Given Freighter sure blocked the Canal up…it really WAS quite a sight!!
Thankfully there were people who figured out a way to unblock the Canal & free Ever Given…
Your poem is lovely…it is tur that one’s vision can take a long time to come into being….we must persevere & be patient…. 😉
