China – Kung Fu

It’s April of 2021 and Day 03 of the A to Z challenge. This year, I am doing the theme – “Travel the World.” I am visiting countries from A to Z and presenting stories with 8 line poems.

Day 03 Country: China

If you did not know, just like I didn’t, originally, kung fu did not just stand for martial arts but for any learning or practice that requires patience, energy, and time to complete – meaning any discipline achieved through hard work. However, yes, kung fu refers to Chinese martial arts, also called wushu and quanfa. There are many forms of kung fu and each has its own principles and techniques. Kung fu is derived from the words to mean trickery and quickness.

Poem:

All those tiring days,
Late night ups,
Skipped meals,
Ignored chores,
Messed up commitments,
Not acknowledged,
Stupidity,
Your kung fu.

Be alert on what you work for. Who you work for and if that makes any sense.
