Growing Through 2020

What makes December 31 special, most probably, is that it is a representative day for what we were last year and the changes we want to see in the upcoming year. While for some, it is a reason to party, for some an opportunity to resolute and start afresh with new beginnings, and some-some so on for the remaining rest. It’s a birthday of ‘hope’ and gives all the reasons to celebrate. The celebration takes its form and favor.

Some dance, fireworks,
Some read, social networks,
Some family, blog, sleep,
Some something else, beep,
A cake, a celebration, a peace.

I am a person who always needs a metric and check. It has worked with me well, for earlier, I used to organize with a periodic task list and now I align them all with my year resolutions. The resolution plan also has contributed to the effectiveness and satisfaction factor. Oh, I so much have fallen in love with January 01 for it brings the passion, love towards commitments, and new beginnings. I started having resolutions since 2017 and it has worked for me most amazingly. Here is what happened in 2018 and then here is how I wrapped up 2019. Below are the works I would want to work on for 2020 with my utmost commitment (And of course, I really want to improve with my blogging commitments, like I used to do two years ago).

  1. Functional programming ? Whatā€™s ur recommendation to learn functional programming in specific and programming in general? Iā€™m reading structure and interpretation of computer programs, would love to hear whatā€™s motivated you to pick up functional style of programs

    • Hello Vivek. I am largely familiar with Scheme and a little of Haskell.

I would recommend every programmer to be familiar with functional for it is an ocean of concepts. Concepts, that is how a programming language has to be than a syntactic listing.

I have found functional relatively difficult to comprehend and that is exactly what makes me work more.

Structure and interpretation, cool. That sounds exciting. šŸ™‚

  4. So many nice things about this article sir. I don’t want to list them, people would accuse me of copy-paste. Your resolutions are more like an entire family’s combined, seriously so ambitious and thoughtful.
Your articles pour in the vibrant life you have in you sir, I am a big fan of that aura!
Happy New Year to you sir šŸ™‚

  5. […] Resolutions have been working great with me. They keep me on track and remind me of the things I have on plate. Here is a quick evaluation of 2020. I am sure that it is going to be a long post and for the year that passed by, I think it is well justified. I want to start with worthy mentions from the year first. If you want to read my resolutions that I made for 2020, you can read the post here: Going Through 2020. […]
